It’s My Party and I’ll Make Pigs in a Blanket if I Want To

This past weekend my roommates and I hosted a little shin dig at our house.

The weather was chilly. The fire pit was toasty. The football games were intense. The beer and wine were flowing. The queso was cheesy and the Pigs In a Blanket were divine. It was a top night.

We wanted to keep the party simple so we kept the menu and beverages simple too.

I highly recommend this recipe for Pigs in a Blanket. They were a classed up version of the party staple.

I also reccomend that if you are serving these pigs to people you like, go with the sesame seeds over poppy seeds. If you don’t care if your party-goers have black seeds in their teeth, go with poppy over sesame.

If you live in a place with a Trader Joe’s you should run (not walk, run) to purchase this wine.

Lambrusco Dell’Emilia Bianco is a sparkling white wine and Reggiano Lambrusco is a sparkling red. It’s the best $5 you will ever spend. We might have a case in our basement.

The night ended with s’mores.

We made s’more cookies using this recipe and let everyone make actual s’mores around the fire.

A friend reccomended substituting the typical chocolate bar with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup which turned out to be amazing.
